Hey guys,
Remember all the slideshows you did during camp talking about aaallll things YOU can do to serve Malaysia? Well, here’s a chance for you to put your money (and feet) where your mouth is.
Let’s start making a difference!
Here am I, send me! (Isaiah 6:8)
Have you ever wondered what you, as a young adult, can contribute to the nation?
The Graduates Christian Fellowship (GCF) will be having a workshop focusing on areas that young adults can contribute back to the nation. The purpose of this workshop is to network leading NGOs which are actively involved in social work in Malaysia with the young working adults market. We hope to advocate needs within Malaysia, allowing each participant (read: you!) to contribute and commit to these NGOs.
The 2-hour workshop will include sharings by the following NGO reps, followed by discussion groups for participants to speak with each NGO rep personally.
Malaysian CARE
More than half of the prisoners in Malaysia are in for drug related offences. There are at least 350,000 drug dependents, many of them without hope. Malaysian CARE’s Prison, Drugs and AIDS (PDA) is one of Malaysian CARE’s ministries that seeks to bring them hope. Many might have heard about these ministries, but might not fully understand the great need and the fruits of their organization’s work.
TenagaNita
We are ordinary people who desire the best for our country, our humanity, our world and our future. We stand up for migrant rights, human rights – individuals and communities whenever and wherever equality, fairness, justice and the truth are denied them.
CREST (Crisis Relief Services & Training)
CREST is a non-profit Christian humanitarian organization. We are made up of Christians who share a desire to reach the poor and needy, refugees and victims of disasters with the love of God, through practical ways such as providing food, clothing, shelter, medicines, basic healthcare and trauma counseling.
Organ Donation
Organ donation takes healthy organs and tissues from one person for transplantation into another. Experts say that the organs from one donor can save or help as many as 50 people. Whilst most organ and tissue donations occur after the donor has died, some organs and tissues can be donated while the donor is alive.
* There will also be an election registration team at the workshop to assist those who have yet to register as voters.
